Entering Fact Table Information
You must enter all facts in the Fact Table Definition page.
Procedure
To enter fact table information, complete the following steps:
- Open the basic input set or cube, and then go to the Fact Table Definition page.
- On the Fact Table Definition page, select the Fact file and Type, and then click Next.
- On the Import Wizard page, complete the following tasks:
- Select the delimiter, text qualifier, end of line character, and encoding used in the file.
- Click Preview, and ensure that the data that is displayed is correct. If not, make appropriate changes in the options you selected, and click Preview again.
- Click each column name in the Preview Table, and
provide the Field Options. You must specify field options for each column.
Select the Null Value check box if the field has no value. Note: You cannot use application reserved words in the Field Name. For more information, see Appendix Dimension Column Names.
- Define at least one Date field to form the time dimension. Note: For Date fields, in the Field Options section, select Date time from the Data Type list. Select the appropriate date order from the Date Order list and type the delimiter that is used to separate month, year, and day in the Date Delimiter box. If the Field Name is Date, you must change the field name because Date is not an acceptable field name in the database.
- Define at least one Numeric field to form at least one measure. Note: For Numeric fields, select Numeric in the Data Type list.
- Click Next.
- On the Fact Properties Definition page, select the Primary
Key, the Transaction Date, the OLAP
columns, and then click Next. Note: You must select only the columns that are required in the Emptoris® Spend Analysis application, like the transaction id, name, date, amount spent as all selected columns are displayed in the application.
