IBM Emptoris Contract Management Buy Side on Cloud provides a repository where customers can store their executed contract documents. This function allows customers to manage contracts associated with procurement, including: procurement of goods, services, rental agreements, lease agreements, etc. Any associated contracts that support the procurement function such as NDAs can also be managed. This offering DOES NOT support managing of healthcare contracts with providers. Customers can upload contracts into the product and associate the contract with appropriate meta-data (i.e. terms). Customers can use search and reporting mechanisms to find the contracts of interest as needed. The system also alerts customers to upcoming events such as contract expirations so that the appropriate action can be taken.

This offering provides additional capabilities to handle negotiation of contracts, track obligations on the contract post execution, and amendment of an executed contract. Customers can use the contract templates and clause templates to ensure standards are being adhered to. Self-service Wizard capabilities provide an easy way to guide novice users to create contracts.

In addition advanced capabilities provide a way to capture and collaborate on more complex attributes of a contract. Line definitions are available to track tabular information in a contract. Approvals and ad-hoc review are available for effective collaboration. Web services allow for integration to other systems.
