Contract Attributes

Contract attributes consist of the various properties and additional elements of a contract.

Definition

Attributes are elements and properties that are not directly included in a contract.

Attributes

The following table lists the attributes of a contract.

Table 1. Contract Attributes
Attribute Description
Security

Security for a contract is defined by creating a security list of users and groups, and assigning them permissions and permission groups. The security list defines who can access the contract and the components of a contract. The security list also defines the actions that users can perform.

If a contract is created from a contract template, the security for the contract is copied from the contract template.

Folders

Folders are hierarchical, navigable classifications of a contract in the contract Repository. A contract can be a member of multiple folders at the same time.

You can search for contracts within folders in the Repository from the application home page.

Events

Events are specific milestones that occur in a contract that is configured at specific contract dates. Events can also be based on the date properties of terms in a contract.

Events trigger off notifications that are sent to contacts and users. Email notification messages originate from notification templates.

Approvals

Approval processes include notifications that are sent to users, and the tasks that are to be completed by the users for accepting or rejecting clauses or contracts.

Approval lists contain users and user groups to whom tasks are assigned for approving contracts or clauses. Approval lists can be dynamically assigned to contracts based on the values of some terms in the contract.

Custom properties

Custom properties are named and defined by the IBM Emptoris Customer and can have different values in different contracts.

Relationships

Relationships of a contract are the links to other contracts. Certain system actions automatically create the system relationships between two contracts.

Attachments

Attachments are external files that are associated with a contract. Attachments may contain additional terms and conditions, and other information.

Attachments are of two types:

  • Pre-execution attachments: Files that external parties can view when a contract is presented.
  • Post-execution attachments: Files that are attached after a contract is executed.
