Recovering Documents in Word

When error or problem occurs while editing the contract language or clause template language by using Word, you can recover the document.

About this task

You can see the documents that are listed in the Word editor in the Document Recovery pane. However, do not use those files.

Procedure

To recover a document in Word, complete the following steps:

  1. Close the contract or clause.
  2. Close all instances of Word.
  3. If you are prompted to save the document, click No.
  4. Open the contract or clause again.

    If the document is corrupted, do not use the document and do not create copies. If line clause tables are corrupted, delete the line clauses and create them again.

  5. Create a new contract template or clause template.
