A Workflow Activity Cycletime report shows information about the cycle time from the
creation to the execution of contracts. The query fetches data for all contracts that were executed
in the date range that is specified by the user. In addition, the user can narrow down the query by
other conditions such as the contract class.
Report Details
The input parameters include the start and end execution dates, contract class, the external
primary party name, the internal primary party name, contracting organization, owning organization,
and affiliated organization name.
The report consists of the following tabs:
- Tab1 – Workflow Cycletime Charts: This tab shows the average time that is taken in days from the
creation of a contract to the execution of the contract. The total duration is broken down into four
buckets – draft duration, approval duration, internal party negotiation, and external party negotiation.
- This information can be grouped by time period when the contract was executed, and by contract
template, contract region, and contract class.
- Tab2 – Approval and Negotiation cycles: The following information is provided in the charts for
approval cycles: number of contract approval cycles, the average duration of each contract approval
cycle, number of clause approval processes, and the average duration of clause approval cycle.
- Graphically this data is grouped by class, by region, and by contract template.
- The following information is tracked for the negotiation cycle: number of negotiation cycles
with the external company and the average duration the contract is with the external party for each
negotiation cycle. This is grouped according to the contract class.
- Tab 3 – Workflow Activity Cycle Time Details: This tab provides the detailed breakdown of cycle
time information that is grouped by contract template name. This detail drives the charts in the
first two tabs.
Note: If the report times out when you run in the user interface, run it on the scheduler.
Several calculations are performed when you generate the report and hence the report can take some
time during execution.
For the Workflow Activity Cycletime Report, the workflow durations are calculated based on the
dates recorded by Emptoris Contract Management. To view the Activity Log for a contract, go to
Activity on the Contract Editor Management tab. However, for some contracts the dates are not
recorded until all activity has been completed. Hence the workflow duration calculations for these
contracts may not reflect the actual time between workflow activities.
