Email Headers

From 10.1.0 onwards, common email headers are used for all email notifications that are sent out from Emptoris applications. The configurations for the email headers are done in the Emptoris® Strategic Supply Management Platform. The properties are synchronized with the other applications in the Emptoris suite.

Properties

Common email headers are used for all notifications that are sent out. Common email headers will help prevent emails being treated as spam due to the differences in the sender address domain, the originating SMTP server, and the receiving SMTP server.

The following properties are used to configure the email headers.

  • Send Email as: The email address that is to be used to generate the "From" or "Sent by" address for notifications. The email address must have the domain of the originating SMTP server. This is a required field.
  • On Behalf of Address: The email address that is to be used to generate the "From" address for notifications. This field is optional and Emptoris Strategic Supply Management Platform does not use this property.
  • Use Alternate Address: Configuring this property enables the From, Sent By, and Reply-to alternate headers that are to be used in notifications. When this property is enabled, email headers are generated based on the Send Mail As and On Behalf of Address properties. When this is not enabled, the Send Email as property is used.

Use of properties in Emptoris Strategic Supply Management Platform

Emptoris Strategic Supply Management Platform generates the following email headers:

  • If email address is available From: <Send Mail As> on behalf of <user email address> Reply-To: <user email address> - when Alternate Header property is checked.
  • If email address is not available From: <Send Mail As>.

The email header properties do not impact any other customized notifications that exist in the suite applications; for example, footer customization in Emptoris Sourcing.

Use of properties in other Emptoris applications

The email header properties are used differently by the Emptoris applications. The following table lists how the properties are used by each product.
