Steps for Emptoris Contract Management for the ecm.properties File

From version 10.0.4 onwards, some properties from the ecm.properties file for Emptoris® Contract Management are configured in the Emptoris Contract Management application. If you have successfully upgraded Emptoris Contract Management from an earlier version to 10.0.4 or later, you must complete certain steps to ensure that the ecm.properties file has the latest updated properties.

About this task

After upgrading from an earlier version to 10.0.4 or later, you must make sure that the ecm.properties file has the latest values from the previous installation before you start the Emptoris Contract Management application service. When the Emptoris Contract Management application service is started for the first time, the configurations that can be done from the application UI are automatically migrated to the database and removed from the ecm.properties file. Any upgrades to the 10.0.4 or later environment might result in the re-addition of the properties that are moved to the UI to the ecm.properties file. However, the file is not automatically cleaned up again and the properties that get added do not have any impact on the application. After upgrading to 10.0.4, the properties must be set from the UI.

Procedure

To ensure that the ecm.properties is updated, complete the following steps:

  1. Modify the configurations in the application UI.
  2. Do not add the properties that are now moved to the UI to the ecm.properties file again.
  3. Remove any properties that are seen in the file but can be configured from the UI.
  4. Save the file.
