Guidelines for Installing InfoSphere DataStage
Comply with the following guidelines when you install InfoSphere DataStage on Linux.
Note: Unless specified, retain the default values.
- After you download and extract the InfoSphere DataStage files, run the installation program by using the following command: Execute ./setup.
- The result message contains the URL for the installation wizard. Copy the URL and open it in a browser.
- Select the language for the installation (English) and click Login.
- Follow the prompts in the wizard to continue installing InfoSphere DataStage. Retain the default options unless specified.
- For the Installation Type Selection, select New Installation.
- From the Tier Selection step, select Services Tier
and Engine Tier or Client Tier (for Windows). Select
the Metadata Repository Tier only if you are planning to install the DB2
database on the same system and use it as the Metadata repository. Select this option if you are
using Oracle 12c.
InfoSphere DataStage 9.1.2 does not support Oracle 12c for metadata storage. If you are using Oracle 12c as the Reporting database, you must use a different database for the metadata.
- In the Product Selection step, select all options.
- For the Software License Agreement, accept the terms for the product module license.
- In the IBM InfoSphere DataStage Installation Options step, select IBM InfoSphere DataStage edition to develop parallel and server jobs.
- In the High Availability Server Cluster Configuration step, do not select any option.
- In the Application Server Options step, select Install WebSphere Application Server.
- In the IBM WebSphere Application Server Installation Directory step, select
the default WebSphere Application Server Profile Port.
If you use custom ports, use the corresponding custom ports in the URL to access the IIS web console.
- In the Application Server Administrator step, create a user for the Application Server Administration. The default user name is wasadmin.
- In the IBM InfoSphere Information Server Administrator step, create an Administrator user for IBM InfoSphere Information Server. The default user is isadmin.
- In the Database Connection step, provide the database access information for the database that will host the metadata repository. It can be a DB2 or Oracle database.
- In the WebSphere Application Server data source for the staging area step, provide the access information for the database that will host the staging area. It can be a DB2 or Oracle database.
- In the IBM Websphere MQ Plug-in Selection step, do not enter any values. Click Next.
- In the IBM InfoSphere DataStage and IBM InfoSphere QualityStage Globalization step, select Install globalization support.
- In the Preinstallation Summary for the Current Computer step, click Install.
- Review the post installation summary.
