Supported operating systems for the framework server
The framework server runs on the following operating systems and hardware platforms.
The framework server is a 32-bit application that can be run on 64-bit operating systems; for example, Solaris 64-bit SPARC.
Unless specified, all service packs, updates, and minor releases for the indicated version are supported. If a service pack or minor release is specified, later service packs and minor releases are also supported.

The Environment wizard GUI application is deployed on a Rational Build Forge®-supported application server. In V7.1.2, Rational Build Forge has added support for WebSphere Application Server V7.0 (Java SDK V6).
- JAR files that are referenced as an Ant task and executed only by Ant should be compiled using Java SDK 5.
- JAR files that are executed by the wsadmin scripting client must be compiled to use the lowest JDK version of the target system in which they will be run. For example, to be executed by wsadmin on a WebSphere V6.0 (JDK V1.4) target system, the Java program must be compiled using JDK V1.4.
