Setting security for your application

You set access to the application in Business Automation Studio. This access enables users to work with the application in Business Automation Studio.

About this task

If you want other users to be able to view or edit your application, you can add them to the application in Business Automation Studio.

Security for your application after it is deployed depends on membership in groups that are created in the Business Teams Service server as part of the deployment process. You use the Business Teams Service server to add users to the appropriate group so that they can access and use your application. For more information, see Granting runtime users access to your application.

Procedure

To add user access for your application:

  1. In Business Automation Studio, click the Business applications tile.
  2. In the Business applications list, click the tile for your new application.
Clicking the Open link opens your application in Application Designer, but for this operation, you access the application information view by clicking directly on the tile.

Information about the application displays. The Versions tab provides a history for the versions that are created for the application. The Collaborators tab provides access management settings for the application.

  3. On the Collaborators tab, click Add collaborator.
  4. In the Add users dialog, type the name of the user that you want to add.
The available choices reflect the users that are configured by your administrator in Business Teams Service.
  5. Select the name of the user that you want, and click Add users.
  6. In the User list you can set the permission you want:
    • Admin - full access
    • Edit - export, publish, preview, edit, and delete
    • Read - export and preview

Any user who wants to edit the application must have edit access for the application and read access to the UI toolkit that are used in the application templates.
