Data security for IBM Connections for Good
The IBM Connections for Good mobile app for iOS and Android devices includes support for mobile application management provided by Good Dynamics. The app uses the Good Dynamics® Secure Mobility Platform to safely segregate corporate data from personal data on any device, user owned or corporate liable, without compromising user privacy.
App storage
The IBM Connections for Good app uses the Good Dynamics SDK to ensure that all data from the app that is stored on the device and all data that is transmitted from the app is secured by the Good Dynamics container. All data that is stored in files or databases by the IBM Connections for Good app is encrypted by Good Dynamics. All data that is transmitted between the Connections app and the Connections server travels through the secure Good Proxy tunnel, or in the case of IBM Connections™ Cloud, uses a trusted, TLS 1.2 secured connection to IBM Connections Cloud.
Review the sample network topologies for on-premises Connections servers and IBM Connections Cloud
Figure 1 shows an example deployment for Connections on-premises that routes mobile traffic through the Good Network Operating Center. For an on-premises Connections deployment, your Connections mobile traffic passes through the Good Network Operating Center en route to your company's back-end Good Control, Good Proxy, and on-premises Connections servers. Push notification messages are directed from your internal servers through Apple and Google APIs.

Figure 2 shows an example deployment for a service-only Connections deployment that routes mobile traffic through the Good Network Operating Center. For a service-only Connections deployment, your Connections mobile traffic passes through the Good Network Operating Center en route to your company's back-end Good Control server. Connections mobile traffic is transmitted between IBM Connections Cloud servers and mobile devices using HTTPS. Push notifications are directed from IBM Connections Cloud servers through Apple and Google APIs.
