Unmounting volumes
To unmount cartridges or volumes, the unmount command
must be used. Without specifying the -d or -t option,
the unmount command is only able to unmount volumes
that were previously mounted with TSLM. Therefore,
there must be Task and MountLogical objects
present in the TSLM database
that reflect a successful mount operation.
Note: For IBM Spectrum® Protect,
this operation is automatically handled by the TSLM ELM.
Verifying successful execution of unmount commands
Successful execution of an unmount command deletes the following objects:
- The
MountLogicalobject that was created by the mount command - The
Taskobject that was created by the mount command
Additionally, a DriveCartridgeAccess object is
created, which acts as status information about the previous mount/unmount
operation. You can use the lsdca command to list
these objects.
