Create and assign tasks to yourself and members of your
teams. For example, you might want to conduct a meeting, request an
analysis, or ask for a secondary review. You can also link tasks to
specific investigations.
About this task
Use the
Tasks view to set search criteria
to show active or completed tasks for you or a user who is assigned
to a specific team. You can track which tasks are due today, overdue,
or have yet to be completed. You can also search on a range of dates,
or sort by values, such as the person assigned, date last updated,
or person assigned. For example, sort tasks by priority to make it
easier to find the tasks that are most urgent.
Members of the
Investigator role or Triage role can only see tasks that are assigned
to themselves. Members of the Supervisor role can see all tasks for
an investigation.
Procedure
To create a task:
- Click
Tasks. The Tasks pane is displayed, showing results based on defined search
criteria.
- Click
More Actions and select Create
Task.
- From the Create Task window, complete
required information, and then click OK. To
associate a task with a specific investigation, click
Link Investigation to
search for specific criteria. Then select an investigation from the
results to link to the task that you are creating. When a task is linked to an investigation, the
Tasks icon with the number of associated tasks is displayed. For

The newly
created task appears in the Tasks list for the assigned user. For
example, if you created a task for yourself and defined criteria to Show
- My active tasks, the task is displayed in your
Tasks list. Click a task to view
its contents and read any lengthy descriptions. You can also select
a task and click
More Actions to perform various actions:- Select a task to edit its contents, such as its priority level
or due date.
- Select a task to delete it. Note that you must be the owner of
a task.
- Clear all selected tasks from the list.
- Mark a task as read to provide a visual queue (bold removed)
that you reviewed its contents. Mark as unread again to make the text bold again.
- Indicate that a task is completed. If a task was inadvertently marked as completed, mark it as
incomplete to reopen it.
