Setting the disposition of business objects

Users who are assigned to the Investigator or Supervisor role can set a disposition for business objects that are related to an investigation.

About this task

The Card view displays business objects that are related to the selected investigation. When a disposition is set by a user for a business object, an icon is added to indicate the disposition. Dispositions are optional by default. After a disposition value is set, you can change the value.

The default disposition icons and their values are:
  • Confirmed Fraud
  • Evaluation Required
  • Insufficient Evidence
  • Not Fraud
  • Suspected Fraud

In addition to the disposition icon, the Card view also displays the References icon that indicates the number of times that a business object is related to other investigations.

Important:

A disposition is connected to a business object with a specific fraud context. Other investigations with the same context share the same disposition value for the business object.

Because a business object can be related to more than one investigation, another user can set the disposition for the object either before or after you view the cards for a specific investigation. Be careful when you change the disposition for an object that is related to more than one investigation.

Procedure

To set the disposition for a business object:

  1. From the In-Baskets page, click the row of an investigation to view the Details page.
  2. If the Card view is not displayed, click Card.
  3. Select the Check circle button that is associated with the business object that you want to set the disposition for. For example, select ZBA_Master_Checking in the Accounts card container.

  5. In the Set Disposition window, select a disposition from the list.
  6. Optional: Add a description of why this disposition was selected.
