Installing IBM DB2 Spatial Extender

DB2® Spatial Extender allows you to store, manage, and analyze spatial data in DB2. This DB2 feature is required for IBM® Counter Fraud Management.

Before you begin

Open a DB2 command window (or window with DB2 in the PATH statement), and run the db2se utility. If IBM DB2 Spatial Extender is installed, a usage statement is returned; otherwise, follow this procedure to install it.

Procedure

To install IBM DB2 Spatial Extender:

  1. Stop all DB2 processes.
    1. Open a new DB2 command window.
      Enter the following command, where db2user is the DB2 user:
      su -db2user
      db2
    2. Enter the following command to generate a list of all DB2 instances on the server:
      db2ilist
    3. For each instance on the server, enter the following commands:
      set DB2INSTANCE=instance_name 
      db2stop force
    4. Enter the following command to stop the DB2 administrative server:
      db2admin stop
  2. Install DB2 Spatial Extender.
    1. Select Install a Product > DB2 Version 10.5 Fix Pack 5 Workgroup, Enterprise and Advanced Editions > Work with Existing
    2. Select Modify.
    3. Under DB2 Server Edition > Server Support, select the option to install Spatial Extender server support on your local drive.
    4. Click Next and click Finish.
  3. Enable the DB2 Spatial Extender in the Counter Fraud database by running the following command:
    db2se enable_db cfdb
