Configuring alert routing and prioritization

By default, all alerts are placed in the Supervisor role's queue (or in-basket). If your business rules for the analysis flow do not set a value for the destination or the priority, the default values are used. If you provide the rules, then you need to set them according to the list of destination and priority choices.

Before you begin

A developer must create, deploy, and validate rule applications by using IBM® Operational Decision Manager. See your IBM Lab Services representative for documentation on how to use the Destination RuleApp sample to create RuleApps for setting alert destinations and priorities.

About this task

The solution includes the following properties:

Destination
Routes a particular alert to a specific in-basket. This property is required and must have a value. The default value is Triage 1.
Priority
Specifies the priority given to an alert based on a defined rule. This property is required and must have a value. The default value is Low.

Procedure

To configure alert routing and prioritization:

  1. Log in to Case Manager Builder. Enter the following URL in the browser:
    http://hostname:9080/CaseBuilder/login/login.jsp
  2. Select the solution that you want to edit.
  3. If your site does not use the default values for the Destination and Priority properties, modify the property values. From the solution home page, open the Properties page and change the settings.
  4. Add roles and configure role in-baskets. For instructions, see Adding and selecting roles.
Note: Ensure that the sortable columns that are displayed the in-baskets always contain data because queries on sorted fields look for values that are not NULL. For instructions, see Defining in-baskets.
