Automated messages
Read the following section to learn about automated messages.
A Group of Automated Messages is a series of emails that can be set or triggered by an event and provides the same basic information to any qualified customer such as:
- A date (like birthdays, anniversaries, a product release date, or contract renewal)
- Opt-in (for example when someone opts-in to your database)
- Recurring event (like a monthly reminder or newsletter)
Automated message are good for sending emails at a specific time of the day where programs are better for responding to a contacts behavior.
Example
A good fit for Automated Messages is messages that require sending at a specific date and time or are not conversational. You can personalize them, but you do not look for an answer or follow up from the customer. Use them for single emails or recurring ones. They can be triggered by events like Programs but offer more structure and less flexibility to continue the conversation. Emails are assigned to a defined Group of Automated Messages via the Send process. In some cases, you can use an Automated Message as the initial contact and the reaction from the customer as the entrance event into a more robust program.
