Discovery modeling

IBM Surveillance Insight for Financial Services provides you with the ability to build your own discovery models to suit your business requirements.

The Discovery tab in the Design Studio provides access to the voice modeling features.

Create a discovery model

  1. On the Discovery Model tab, click Create Model.
  2. Enter a name and description for the model.
  3. Click Create.

    After the model is created, the iterations listing page is displayed. You must create datasets before you can create iterations to allow you to discover entities.

Create a dataset

  1. On the Datasets tab, click Create Dataset.
  2. Enter a name, description, and path for the dataset.

    The path should point to the HDFS location where raw emails are stored.

  3. Click Create.

Create an iteration

  1. On the Models tab, click a model.
  2. Click Create Iteration.
  3. Enter an iteration description and select the dataset.

  4. Click Create.

    The iterations are shown on the Iteration tab.

  5. Click Execute to run the iteration.

    The Discovery job is submitted. When the job is finished, the status will show Done and the entities are ready to view.

  6. Click View to show the entities.
  7. Tag a term by selecting the entities from the existing lexicon or click the plus sign to create new a new lexicon.
  8. After you have tagged the terms against the lexicon, click Finish.
