To deploy a CBA to the development environment by using MDM Workbench,
take the following steps:
Before you begin
Before you deploy from the Workbench to the operational server, ensure that the recommended
Workbench workspace server definition publishing settings are in place:
- From the Server view, double-click the server to open the server definition settings.
- Under Publishing, select Never publish automatically.
- Under Publishing settings for WebSphere Application Server, select Run server with
resources on Server.
- Restart the server before running deployment procedure.
Procedure
- If the Server view is not already displayed, click .
- In the Servers view, select to highlight
the server you intend as the target for the CBA file or files.
- Right-click the server and click Add and Remove to
load the Add and Remove wizard.
- In the Available column, select
the available CBA files that you want to add to the operational server,
then click Add to include them in the Configured column,
then click Finish.
Important: By default, the If server is started,
publish changes immediately option is selected, but it
is advisable to restart the server in either case.
- Restart the server by one of the following methods:
- Right-click the server and then click Restart from
the menu.
- Click Restart.
- In the Servers view, right-click
on the CBA and click Manage Extensions.
- Open the Advanced section.
- Click Get information from server,
then select the Business-level application and Composition
unit from their respective drop-down boxes.
- The business-level application will have a suffix of whatever
name you chose when deploying the operational server, in the format MDM-operational-server-EBE-name_suffix. For
example: MDM-operational-server-EBE-app_0001
- The Composition unit will be the application .eba file;
for example, com.ibm.mdm.server.app_0001.eba
- Click Finish.
Wait for
the operation to complete: this might take several minutes.
- Restart the application server that is running the InfoSphere® MDM application.
