Reference data type properties
Every reference data type has a default set of properties that define the base structure of reference data sets.
- Name
- The name of the reference data type. This property is required.
- Description
- A description of the reference data type. This property is optional.
- Code validation rule
- The validation rule that is applied to the Code property for each reference value in the reference data sets with this reference data type. This property is optional for reference data types of type Reference Data Set, and disabled for reference data types of type Mapping Set.
- Enable business key
- Enabling this option makes the reference data type a compound key data set type. Compound key reference data types are like other reference data types except that they have one or more key properties. These properties require unique reference values in the sets that are based on this reference data type. The default value is true (enabled). This property is disabled for reference data types of type Mapping Set.
- Data type
- Indicates whether the reference data type is for sets or mappings. Reference data sets are based on a reference data type of type Reference Data Set. Mappings are based on a reference data type of type Mapping Set. After the reference data type is saved, this property cannot be changed. This property is required.
- Owners
- Lists the owners of the data type. Click Manage Owners to add or remove owners from this list. This property is required.
