Install IBM® Watson IoT Platform - Message Gateway in Docker containers by building and deploying the Docker images that you need to run IBM Watson IoT Platform - Message Gateway.

Before you begin

Before you build and deploy the Docker images that you need to run IBM Watson IoT Platform - Message Gateway, you must provision your operating system and install Docker. For more information, see Provisioning your operating system and Installing Docker on your operating system. You must also prepare the IBM Watson IoT Platform - Message Gateway .tz files. For more information, see Preparing the IBM Watson IoT Platform - Message Gateway .tz packages for installation.

About this task

To run IBM Watson IoT Platform - Message Gateway services on the Docker platform, you need to build and run the IBM Watson IoT Platform - Message Gateway Docker images as Docker containers on a supported host environment. After successful deployment, you must set and accept the license. For more information about setting and accepting the license, see Configuring the licensed usage for IBM Watson IoT Platform - Message Gateway and accepting the license by using REST Administration APIs. Once you have accepted the license, you can start to use IBM Watson IoT Platform - Message Gateway to handle connected clients and devices and also to process messages. You can use the IBM Watson IoT Platform - Message Gateway Web UI to administer one or more IBM Watson IoT Platform - Message Gateway messaging servers.
