Adding shared libraries for discovering services from Oracle Application Server

To configure the discovery of services from Oracle Application Server, you must add Oracle .jar files, as shared libraries, to the ServiceRegistry application in WebSphere® Application Server. The files you must add are adminclient.jar and oc4jclient.jar.

To add the shared libraries, complete the following steps:
  1. Download the Administrative Client Utility from the Oracle Web site at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/utilsoft-090603.html.
  2. Extract the files adminclient.jar and oc4jclient.jar from the downloaded .zip file; these files are located in thej2ee\home folder.
  3. Open the WebSphere Application Server administrative console.
  4. Click Environment > Shared Libraries.
  5. Select the required scope, and click New.
  6. Enter adminclient in the Name field, enter the path to adminclient.jar in the Classpath field, and click OK.
  7. Click New, enter oc4jclient in the Name field, enter the path to oc4jclient.jar in the Classpath field, and click OK.
  8. Click Applications > Application Types > WebSphere enterprise applications > ServiceRegistry > Shared library references.
  9. Select the check box next to ServiceRegistry, and click Reference shared libraries.
  10. Select adminclient and oc4jclient in the Available field, and click the double right arrow button (Add) to add them to the Selected field.
  11. Click OK, then click Save to save your changes to the master configuration.
