Operations template

The Operations template includes six pages that consist of widgets that you can use to search, browse, view collections and details of items in the registry, and perform key tasks.

The Operations template is aimed at the operations user. The operations user performs tasks such as loading WSDLs, managing endpoints, and working with SLDs and SLAs.

You can edit the settings of individual widgets to customize a view based created from this template. For example, you can add your own actions to the Actions widget, or add additional object types to the Search widget. For more information, follow the related link to the widget topics.

Overview page

This page gives an overview of the operations-related items in your service registry. It shows you endpoints in the service registry, and service level descriptions (SLDs), service level agreements (SLAs), or capability versions that require your attention. It enables you to search for particular items, and to load documents. The Overview page contains the following widgets:

  • Collection widget showing watch list. This widget shows the types of service registry items that you, as an operations user, might be interested in: service level agreements (SLAs), service level definitions (SLDs), and capability versions. The watch list shows items that are in a lifecycle state that you can work with.
  • Reference widget. This widget contains links to useful topics in the product documentation.
  • Search widget. This widget enables you to search for any type of items in the service registry.
  • Actions widget. This widget enables you to load documents into the service registry.
  • Collection widget showing all endpoints. This is shows endpoints in the service registry.

If you select an object in the Overview page, you are switched to the Browse page to view details of that object. The following picture shows an example of an Overview page in an Operations view:

Browse page

Use this page to browse the items in your service registry. You can search for items, and view and edit item details. You can also use the navigator to follow the relationships of your item, and select new items. The Browse page contains the following widgets:

  • Search widget. This widget enables you to search for any type of item in the service registry.
  • Collections widget. This widget shows your recently created items. You can select a number of other pre-configured views.
  • Navigator widget. This widget shows a one-up, one-down graphical view of the item currently displayed in the Detail widget, and its relationships.
  • Detail widget. This widget shows details of the item that is currently selected in the Collection widget and enables you to edit the details of that item. You can also choose to view the item and its relationships in the Graphical Explorer widget from here.
  • Activity widget. This widget shows you a summary of the actions you have completed on the item currently displayed in the Detail widget.

Graph page

Use this page to view a graphical representation of your business objects and their relationships. You can use the relationships in this view to navigate to other items. The Graph page contains the following widget:

Consumers and Providers page

Use this page to view services in the context of consumers and providers. The page shows the consumers and providers of a business capability in a graphical form. You can also view the details of the items that are displayed in this view. The Consumers and Providers page contains the following widgets:

  • Service Consumption Visualizer widget. This widget shows a graphical view of services and service versions that have SLAs in place to specify the provision and consumption of services.
  • Detail widget. This widget shows details of the item that is currently selected in the Service Consumption Visualizer widget.

Operational Policies page

Use this page to view information about policies that are operative in the runtime environments. The Operational Policies page contains the following widgets:

  • Operational Policy Enforcement Overview widget. This widget shows the pass and failure rates of operational policies that are applied to runtime environments.
  • Operational Policy Enforcement Details widget. This widget provides detailed information relating to the pass and failure rates for an individual operational policy.
