A search scope limits the help topics that are searched.
About this task
By default, a search applies to all topics in the help. Take
the following steps to create a named scope that limits a search to
specified topics.Procedure
- On the search window, click Search scope.
- In the Select Search Scope dialog, select Search
only the following topics and click New.
- In the New Search List dialog, enter a
name for the search.
- Check the parts of help that you want to search. You can
check topics at the starting level and one level below.
- Click OK to save the scope and close
the New Search List dialog.
The
new scope appears in the list of scopes when Search only the
following topics is selected.
You can create another
scope.
You can edit or remove a selected scope.
- Click OK to close the Select
Search Scope dialog.
- The scope that is in effect appears next to Search
scope. To change scope:
- Click Search scope to open the Select
Search Scope dialog.
- Select Search only the following topics then
select a scope, or select Search all topics.
- Click OK.
Example
For example, to create a search scope for only Domino® Designer topics: in the New
Search List dialog, name the scope Designer and
check all the top-level topics that begin with Lotus Domino
Designer.
