Starting the Connection Manager

When you first install the Connection Manager, you can specify whether you want it to start automatically when the operating system starts. You can also start and stop the Connection Manager independently from the operating system from the Gatekeeper, from the command line, or from the service monitor for your operating system.

Use any of the following methods to start the Connection Manager:

Procedure

  • From the Gatekeeper, open the Resources page, right-click the Connection Manager, and then click Startup.
  • On Windows, open the Services snap-in (services.msc) of the Microsoft Management Console, right-click IBM Connection Manager service (wgattachd) and then click Start.
  • From a command line on the Connection Manager server, type one of the following commands, depending on the operating system:
    • On Linux or Windows, type
      wgstart
    • On AIX®, type
      startsrc -s wgated
