Validating artifacts in ENI views

IBM® Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Engineering Insights (ENI) provides Review and repair artifacts wizard, which enables you to map invalid artifacts and conditions to existing system artifacts and conditions. After providing the correct mapping, invalid artifacts are replaced with the mapped valid artifacts.

About this task

In few cases, some of the Jazz® Reporting Service artifacts are invalidated. Therefore, views that contain such artifacts become invalid and the data in those views are not loaded completely. If you have edit access to the views, you can validate the artifacts of the view.

Also, when you validate a view, you can map link type in the Review and repair artifacts wizard. This mapping shows a list of all the unique link types from the views to be validated. You can select mapping for each link type during view validation.

Procedure

  1. In the ENI application, go to My views or Shared views tab. The list of existing views is displayed.
Invalid view is shown with a red icon
  2. Select the checkbox next to the invalid view, and then click the Validate artifacts in views icon Validate view button. If all the selected views are valid, then the following informative message is displayed. The Review and repair artifacts wizard opens.
    All selected views are valid
If any of the selected views is invalid, the Review and repair artifacts wizard opens. On the Select valid artifacts step, the unique containers in the invalid view are displayed.
  3. On the Select valid artifacts step, you must map an invalid artifact to a valid artifact. Click the pencil icon pencil icon to open the Select an artifact type dialog.
  4. In the Select an artifact type dialog, select a system artifact and click Ok, and click Next.
Map the invalid artifacts to the system artifacts
  5. On the Select valid conditions step, the invalid conditions that exist in the container are displayed. For each invalid condition, select value from the list Valid condition, and then click Next. Invalid artifacts from the selected views are replaced with the mapped valid artifacts.
    Modify the current conditions
  6. On the Select valid links step, select the required link from the list in the Valid link column. Repeat this step for all the links and click Finish.
Important: The possible links that are displayed in the Valid link column get updated based on the artifact mapping that is done in the Select valid artifacts step.

Results

After the invalid artifacts from the selected views are replaced with the mapped valid artifacts, you can open the view and access the artifacts in the container. The following image shows the view with valid artifact mapping:
After the view is rectified, the containers in the view is visible.
