Selecting action by using links information

The links information provides single click actions that you can complete by selecting the required action from the Action list. These actions are available in the Action column of the Current links information section. On selecting the required action from the list, you can add a container and link it to the existing container on the view canvas. You can also see the link information of the new container, and set the Link validity and Link existence values for the new linked container.

1. Add new container
   1. Select the required link from the generated links information.
   2. Select the Add new container action from the list.
      

   A new linked container of the current Artifact type is added onto the view canvas. You can add a new linked container without navigating to the Show links to wizard.

   
2. Add and update current links information
   1. Right-click the new linked container and click Show current links information.
   2. Select the required link from the generated links information.
   3. Select the Add and update current links information action from the list.
      

   A new linked container of the current Artifact type is added onto the view canvas and new container's current links information is displayed. You can use the updated current links information to add the next linked container in the hierarchy.

   

   For example, current links details and their count for new Story linked container.

   

3. Open Show links to
   1. Select the required link from the generated links information.
   2. Select the Open Show links to action from the list.
      

   The Show links to wizard with the current artifact and link type is displayed. You can set the additional values such as Link validity and Link existence before you create a new linked container. To set the Link validity and Link existence values, see Configuring link appearance based on the link validity status in views and Displaying artifacts based on the link existence value in views.

4. Click Finish to exit from the Show links to wizard.
   Based on the Link validity and Link existence value that you defined, the selected container gets added in the hierarchy.
