Configuring CDC Replication for a Db2 High Availability Disaster Recovery (HADR) environment

There are a number of configuration steps you must follow before you can use CDC Replication to replicate data in a DB2® High Availability Disaster Recovery (HADR) environment

You can configure CDC Replication to replicate data in a DB2 HADR environment. During a failover (either manual or automatic) when the DB2 LUW workload is transferred from the primary server to the standby server, you can configure CDC Replication to start replication to the new primary server.

Important: CDC Replication does not support replication to a standby server.

To deploy CDC Replication in a DB2 HADR environment, you must install CDC Replication and create your CDC Replication instances on a storage area network (SAN) device that has direct file system access to the primary server and standby server. You must also make the same ports available to the CDC Replication on the primary and standby servers. By default, the CDC Replication Engine for Db2® Database replication engine uses port 10901.
