Impromptu Web Reports 7.4 Will Not Start After Impromptu Web Reports 7.5 Has Been Uninstalled

IBM® Cognos® Impromptu Web Reports 7.4 services fail to start after Impromptu Web Reports 7.5 (including ObjectStore 7.1) is uninstalled from a Windows computer which has been running co-existing 7.4 and 7.5 Impromptu Web Report installations.

When co-existence was enabled, a configuration manager setting was added to the IWR7.4 installation and set for ObjectStore coexistence. Following the uninstallation of 7.5, the setting must be reset to enable IWR 7.4 to use the 6.2 version of ObjectStore provided with this product.

To accomplish this, do the following:

  1. Ensure that ObjectStore 6.2 is installed on the computer by following the steps described in the 7.4 installation guide.

  2. Open Configuration Manager for the 7.4 Installation.

  3. Navigate to Services, ObjectStore Database, Enable/Disable co-existence of 7.4 and 7.5 with ObjectStore 7.1.

  4. Ensure the property "Change IWSvcMancer5 dependency for co-existence" has the value "ObjectStore Cache Manager R6.0".

  5. Apply the configuration settings and restart the services.
