Editing image template properties (OpenStack only)
IBM® Cloud Manager with OpenStack supports viewing and editing a subset of the properties that are stored with an image template in the OpenStack cloud.
Procedure
- In the IBM Cloud Manager with OpenStack dashboard, click an image template to view or edit the properties of that image template.
- The following basic OpenStack image template properties can be edited: name, disk format, container format, minimum memory (MB), and minimum storage (GB).
- Optional: You can also view, create, update,
and delete additional OpenStack image
template properties. The additional properties might include architecture,
hypervisor_type, kernel_id, ramdisk_id, os_version or os_distro.
For more information about OpenStack image
template properties, see the OpenStack Compute
Administration Guide at http://docs.openstack.org/admin-guide-cloud/content/section_image
template-mgmt.html.
Some of the additional OpenStack image template properties are specific to certain OpenStack hypervisor types. For example, the KVM hypervisor supports the hw_vif_model, hw_disk_bus and hw_cdrom_bus properties. For more information about these properties, see Libvirt Custom Hardware Configuration at https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/LibvirtCustomHardware.
Notes:- An image template configuration strategy is part of the additional OpenStack image template properties. However, the configuration strategy cannot be viewed or edited with this task.
- To deploy an image template to an OpenStack KVM hypervisor, the qemu value is used for the hypervisor_type property of the image template.
