After you configure a language package, messages and help are shown on the Tivoli® Storage Manager in languages other than US English. Installation packages are provided with Tivoli Storage Manager.
About this task
To set support for a
certain locale, complete one of the following tasks: - Set the LANGUAGE option in the server options
file to the name of the locale that you want to use. For example:
- To use the it_IT locale,
set the LANGUAGE option to it_IT.

- If you are starting
the server in the foreground, set the LC_ALL environment
variable to match the value that is set in the server options file.
For example, to set the environment variable for Italian, enter the
following value:
export LC_ALL=it_IT
If the locale is successfully initialized, it formats the date, time, and number for the server. If the locale is not successfully initialized, the server uses the US English message files and the date, time, and number format.
