IBM Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio

Changing IBM Database Project Properties

You can use the Properties window and the Property Pages window to view and change the properties of an existing IBM® database project.

To change the properties of an IBM database project:

  1. In the Solution Explorer, select the node that displays the title of the project.

The Properties window displays the properties of the IBM database project.

  2. In the Properties window, change the value in any of the entry fields.

Select a property to see its description in the box under the properties list.

The data connection properties that are displayed in the Properties window are the properties that are associated with the current active configuration. To change the active configuration, select the solution node and modify the Active config property in the Properties window. You can also change properties that apply to a specific project configuration (for example, Win32 Debug).

To change configuration-specific project properties:

  1. In the Solution Explorer, select the node that displays the title of the project, and then perform one of the following steps:
    • Right-click the node, and then select Properties on the shortcut menu.
    • In the Properties window, click Property Pages on the toolbar.

The Property Pages window displays the properties of the IBM database project for the selected configuration.

  2. Select a configuration and then change the value of any of the entry fields:
    • Data Connection: The IBM data server on which the project is built. Type the database reference directly or click Ellipsis button to open a window from which you can select from a list of existing database references.
    • For a DB2 database Build for Debug: A Boolean value that controls whether stored procedures in the project are built with debugging support. This property is observed only for data connections on DB2® for Linux®, UNIX®, and Windows®; and on DB2 for z/OS® or OS/390®.
