You can upgrade from Content Manager Enterprise Edition V8.5 to V8.6.

About this task

For all products, the upgrade to V8.6 follows these rules:
  • Before you upgrade Content Manager Enterprise Edition itself, you must upgrade the V8.5 prerequisites to the V8.6 prerequisites.
  • After you upgrade to the new version, you cannot revert to V8.5.
  • V8.6 reuses the same product directory (IBMCMROOT), working directory, and system registries as V8.5.
  • If you need to install any new V8.6 features, run the configuration manager after upgrading to Content Manager Enterprise Edition V8.6.
  • If the upgrade fails, the upgrade wizard automatically runs the next time that you start the configuration manager. You can run the wizard as many times as are necessary to upgrade successfully. After Content Manager Enterprise Edition has been upgraded successfully, the upgrade wizard does not appear in the configuration manager.
  • Cross-platform upgrades are not supported. For example, you cannot upgrade a V8.5 AIX® database to a V8.6 Linux database.
