Disable User Account Control to resolve error SQL5005C

Symptom

While logging in as a Content Manager Enterprise Edition administrator on Windows™ 2008, you receive the following error when the Db2® service tries to start: SQL5005C.

Possible cause

The User Account Control (UAC) in Windows 2008 might be impeding your Db2 service.

Action

Disable UAC by completing the following steps:

  1. Click Start > Control Panel > User Accounts.
  2. Click Turn User Account Control on or off.
  3. Clear the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check box.
  4. Click OK to save changes and exit.
