Enabling debug installation and configuration logging on Windows™

If you want the installation or uninstallation log to show debug messages, you can turn on debug logging.

About this task

To enable debug installation logging:

Procedure

  1. Log into the reference machine (the machine on which the configuration manager will be started).
    Enabling debugging from this machine automatically enables debugging on all target hosts listed in this configuration manager.
  2. Set the IBM_CM_LOGLEVEL environment variable to 7 by entering the following command in a command prompt window: 
    set IBM_CM_LOGLEVEL=7
  3. In the same command prompt window, run %IBMCMREPO%\CM version\bin\cmcfgmgr_CM.bat to start the Content Manager Enterprise Edition configuration manager.
