Installation wizard and configuration manager

You can launch an installation wizard and a configuration manager to install Content Manager Enterprise Edition.

Installation wizard

The installation wizard only installs files to the cmrepository directory. You can rerun the installation or uninstallation wizard as many times as necessary (for example, if your installation failed).

To run the installation wizard, enter the following command:

install
Important: The installation process temporarily stores all features in the repository installation directory (environment variable IBMCMREPO). These features are not actually installed into the Content Manager Enterprise Edition directory path (environment variable IBMCMROOT) until you select them in the configuration manager.
Restriction: The installation wizard does not support the Croatian language.

The uninstallation wizard runs from IBMCMREPO/version/_uninst/uninstall, and only removes files from the cmrepository (not IBMCMROOT). To uninstall Content Manager Enterprise Edition from the target host, run the configuration manager.

Configuration manager

The configuration manager guides you through selecting and configuring the features that you installed.

Requirement for AIX and Linux: The configuration manager runs on Eclipse SWT/JFace and requires the following minimum software:
Linux
  • GTK+ 2.18.0 or newer, and its dependencies. To check this, run the following command: rpm -q gtk2
or
  • GTK+ 3.20 or newer, and its dependencies
AIX
  • GTK+ 2.24.30 or newer, and its dependencies
  • Mozilla/XULRunner (for the inline help): Mozilla 1.4 GTK2 - 1.7.x GTK2, XULRunner 1.8.x - 1.9.x and 3.6.x (but not 2.x), WebKitGTK+ 1.2.x or later.
zLinux
GTK+ 2.18.0 or newer, and its dependencies.

You can either start the configuration manager from the installation wizard, or start the configuration manually at a later time (for example, after you install a fix pack).

You can rerun the configuration manager as many times as necessary. For example, if the configuration fails or if you apply a fix pack, then you can rerun the configuration manager without any need to reinstall.

To start the configuration manager manually, enter the following command from IBMCMREPO/8.6.version/bin/:

cmcfgmgr_CM
