Masking rules
zDMF supports data set masking for the SOURCE DSN and EXCLUDE DSN.
The following table explains the masking rules.
| Character | Meaning |
|---|---|
| * (single asterisk) | Takes the place of one qualifier or indicates that you are specifying one part of a qualifier. |
| ** (double asterisk) | Used with other qualifiers, denotes one of the
following:
|
| % (percentage) | Indicates a single-character mask |
The SOURCE DSN and EXCLUDE DSN masks allow partial index level masking. For example, IBM®.DATA*.ABC** is valid for SOURCE DSN or EXCLUDE DSN.
Note: The SOURCE DSN parameter does not allow any masking
in the first data set qualifier unless the SOURCE VOLUME parameter
is specified.
