Displaying host system messages

Use this option to display zDMF messages for a specific host system for which the current zDMF TSO Monitor is defined.

About this task

When this option is started, the initial screen that is displayed lists all of the valid host systems that are connected. The list provides each host system’s SMFID, SSID, and CPUID.

Procedure

Complete the following step to display messages for a specific host system:

Enter S next to the relevant host system line and press Enter.
The messages for the selected host are displayed in a separate panel with a date and time stamp for each message. The date and time stamp can either be in local time or GMT depending on your setting (see zDMF TSO Monitor - Option 6: Set User Session Options).
Tip: To display the message help, place the cursor on the message number line and press Enter.
Note: By default, only messages from the last server cold start are displayed. As a result, when this option is first started, the following informational message is displayed (only once) for each ISPF monitor session. To show all messages available for the host system, press PF10.

Tip: The find and repeat find functions are available in the messages panel so that you can search for specific messages without the need to scroll through the entire messages listing.
