Queues

The Queues section lists the queues that you can access in the selected OU. The main queues are always shown, even if they are empty. Associated queues appear only if they have messages. A main queue and its associated queues are displayed as a group, a queue family, in consecutive rows of the list.

Click a queue name to access that queue. If it is a main queue with purpose Create, the Create page is shown. For other queues, the Message List appears. Click Refresh Refresh at the top of the section or the Refresh link at the bottom to refresh the message counts of the queue list.

The queue list contains the following columns:
Queue name
The queue name column displays the name of each of the queues to which you have access. Associated queues are displayed in an italic font below their main queues. For example, the draft queue for the FIN1Create queue that is shown in Figure 1 is indicated by the indented italic string FIN1Create - Draft.
Purpose
The purpose of the main queues:
Create
For creating messages.
Edit
For editing messages.
Authorize
For authorizing messages, including checks for previous authorization steps and users.
Retype
For authorizing messages and ensuring the correctness of important data.
Confirm
For authorizing messages, without checks for previous authorization steps and users.
Display
For reviewing of message content.
Application
For application-specific use.
For more information about queue purposes and types, see Table 1.
#
This column indicates the number of messages that are awaiting processing.
Note: The number of messages that you can see or work on might be less than the number shown in the list. The actual number depends on your access rights.
Actions
This column is shown only to users with administrator or template administrator rights (see Message administrator tasks).
Below the queue list, the following information is displayed:
  • The number of queues that match the filter pattern.
  • The total number of queues in the list.
  • The Filter input field.
  • The Go button.
  • The Refresh link.
  • The time of the last refresh of the list.

The MER Facility initially sorts the list by queue name, in alphabetical order. Click sort by # of messages at the top to sort by the number of messages in the queue families, in descending order. Each queue family is still displayed in consecutive rows of the list. The number of messages in template queues are not considered for sorting. Click sort by name to sort by queue names again.
