SWIFTNet Copy for InterAct and FileAct
SWIFTNet Copy is a feature, provided by SWIFT, that SWIFT SnF services can use to copy and distribute messaging data to third parties, and thereby better monitor and control SnF message and file traffic among its users. For more information about SWIFTNet Copy, see SWIFTNet Messaging Operations Guide.
There are two SWIFTNet Copy modes:
- T-Copy
- After the SIPN receives a request primitive, it routes the primitive to the receiver and routes information about the transfer to up to 10 third parties. The T-Copy mode can be either a full or a partial copy.
- Y-Copy
- After the SIPN receives a request primitive, it routes information about the transfer to exactly one third party. The copy can either be a full or a partial copy. The third party sends, to the SIPN, a system message that indicates whether the SIPN is to pass the request primitive on to the receiver. If the sender requested authorisation information, or if the SWIFT service specifies that such information is mandatory, the SIPN sends a system message containing this information to the sender (see SWIFTNet notifications).
The application service profile (ASP) of a SWIFT service specifies:
- Whether use of SWIFTNet Copy is mandatory, optional, or not allowed for a particular request type
- Whether the sender or the ASP is to specify the third party (for Y-Copy) or third parties (for T-Copy) to which the messaging data is to be routed
- To which third parties messaging data are able to be or must be routed
- Whether full or partial copy is used
