Selecting an option

For some fields, you can select an option from several alternatives, as shown in Figure 1. When nothing is selected, the field remains empty. For a mandatory field, like field 59 in Figure 2, you must select an option to create a valid message. In templates or draft messages, which do not have to be valid, Select option... leaves the mandatory field empty.

When you select an option, additional input fields for that option are displayed, as shown in Figure 3. If you select another option for the same field, the additional input fields are different, as shown in Figure 4.

When you work with a message for which an option is already selected, only the input fields for the selected option are available. Other options are marked with an ellipsis (...) and a different background color in the drop-down list, as shown in Figure 5. The ellipsis signifies that the page must be refreshed to see the input fields for that option. Selecting an option with ellipsis displays a refresh indication, as shown in Figure 6. Click the refresh symbol to refresh the page and load the additional input fields.

Some message definitions, especially in the SWIFTNet MX message space, contain options that enable many additional fields. Such options require refresh even if no other option was selected.
