Creating a SWIFTNet MX message

This section illustrates how to create a SWIFTNet MX message. The procedure is the same for all message domains with MX messages except for the message domain DNIFINPLUS.

  1. On the MER page, select an OU and the Create queue in which to create the message.
    The Create Message page is displayed. It shows the message domains for which you are authorized on the selected queue.
  2. Choose the appropriate domain.
    For example, click DNIMX.
    The page updates to display the sender selection.
  3. Choose one of the senders.
    The page updates to display the message definition set selection.
  4. Select the message definition set.
    The page updates to display the message types of the selected definition set, as shown in Figure 1. The list includes only the messages types that you can access for the selected sender.

    Tip: Create a bookmark in your browser for the message types that you often use. For example, in the FireFox browser, right-click the message type for which the bookmark is to be created and select the "Bookmark this link" action from the menu.
  5. Click the collapsed and expanded symbols to expand and collapse the message type sections as needed.
  6. Click the type of message to be created.
    For example, click setr.001.001.03.
    The input panel for that message type is shown in Figure 2.
    Note: The message domain, sender, and message type cannot be changed during the further message entry steps.

  7. Enter the necessary data.
    Which fields are required and the values they can have is governed by SWIFT specifications.
  8. Switch to the Context view and enter the receiver of the message into the header field Remote address.
  9. When you are finished, click Submit.
    The message is validated. If no errors are detected, the message is submitted for further processing according to the implemented business workflow.
Note: If the template administrator prepared suitable templates, you can use them to create new messages (see Creating a message by using a template).
