Add third-party content in dashboards

You can add cards that contain third-party content, such as images, tables, charts, videos, or lists, to dashboards. To add third-party content, specify the URL origin or if the card is in a device dashboard, associate the card with a dimension. You can filter the data that is retrieved from the URL. For more information, see Dashboard cards.

Use streaming data metrics

Device types that are created in Maximo Monitor 8.8 or later and that use the basic template support batch data metrics. Device types that are created in Maximo Monitor 8.9 or later also support streaming data metrics.

Streaming data metrics run calculations on data that is streamed from the IoT tool. These metrics can process data and generate alerts faster than batch data metrics. Typically, an alert is generated a few seconds after the data is processed. To generate simulated data for these new devices types, use the IoT tool. Streaming data metrics do not use physical interfaces, logical interfaces, or constants. Streaming data metrics do not currently support custom functions.

Sample or simulated data that is generated from the sample device type templates use the older version of device types and does not support streaming data metrics. You cannot combine streaming and batch data metrics in a pipeline.

Note: Device types that support streaming data metrics do not support summary dashboards.

Dashboard performance improvements

Dashboards can load faster and show more recent data.

Documentation improvements

To optimize and improve content retrievability, the documentation is now organized and streamlined to identify information by product and version.
