Administering with MongoDB Ops Manager

If you created a MongoDB database deployment in your IBM Cloud Pak® for Data cluster, you can access the MongoDB Ops Manager to complete common tasks such as managing the users that have access to the database or configuring your MongoDB nodes.

Accessing the MongoDB Ops Manager

When you create the database deployment, a default MongoDB user is created. You can use this user name and password to access the MongoDB Ops Manager.

To access the Ops Manager:
  1. Obtain the user credentials. By default, only the user who created the database deployment can access MongoDB Ops Manager.
  2. Find the Ops Manager URL.
    1. From the Cloud Pak for Data navigation menu, select Services > Instances.
    2. Click the MongoDB Ops Manager instance that you want to connect to. The details page for the instance opens.
    3. On the details page, copy the URL from the Ops Manager URL field.
  3. Paste the URL into a new tab and log in to the MongoDB Ops Manager with your credentials.

Working with the MongoDB Ops Manager

For more information about Ops Manager, see the MongoDB documentation.

By default, only the user who created the database deployment can access MongoDB Ops Manager. To give other users access to the database, see Ops Manager Users and Teams in the MongoDB documentation. Unless Cloud Pak for Data and MongoDB use the same LDAP server, the user names for the database are not tied to their Cloud Pak for Data user name.
