Transferring ownership of data sources in Watson Query

If you have the appropriate authorizations, you can transfer ownership of a data source connection from one collaborator to another.

Before you begin

To complete this task, you must be the user that created the connection, the current admin owner, or a user with the DB2 SECADM privilege.

Procedure

  1. On the Data sources page, click the vertical overflow menu (The vertical overflow menu icon.) beside the connection that you want to transfer ownership for and select Manage access. On the Manage access page, you can see the collaborators and their currently assigned privileges, including the current owner.
  2. Click Transfer ownship.
    Note:

    4.7.0 and 4.7.1 In Watson Query versions 4.7.0 and 4.7.1, only the connection owner or a user with DB2 SECADM privilege can transfer can transfer ownership of a data source connection on the Manage access page in Watson Query. The Transfer ownership button is disabled for non-owners.

  3. Optional: Select Preserve the privileges for the current owner.

    When you select this checkbox, the current owner maintains their assigned privileges for this connection after ownership is transferred to the new owner. When you leave this checkbox cleared, the privileges of the current owner are revoked after ownership is transferred.

  4. Select the user that you want to transfer ownership to.
  5. Apply your changes.
