Preparing to install the Db2 service

Important: IBM Cloud Pak® for Data Version 4.6 will reach end of support (EOS) on 31 July, 2025. For more information, see the Discontinuance of service announcement for IBM Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.X.

Upgrade to IBM Software Hub Version 5.1 before IBM Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.6 reaches end of support. For more information, see Upgrading IBM Software Hub in the IBM Software Hub Version 5.1 documentation.

Before you install the Db2 service, it is recommended that you configure dedicated nodes and storage for Db2. For production environments, you must deploy the database on one or more dedicated nodes.

Attention: If you plan to enable Db2 replication, it must run in Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux) enforcing mode. For information about setting up replication security, see Setting up security for Db2 replication.
