Compose for MySQL connection
To access your data in Compose for MySQL, create a connection asset for it.
Compose for MySQL is a general introduction to MySQL on Compose, a platform for production-ready database hosting. MySQL, as the central component of the LAMP model, it sports a number of connectors, including Python, PHP and C++ for development needs. MySQL is a popular choice because of its flexibility and vast supported ecosystem.
Create a connection to Compose for MySQL
To create the connection asset, you need these connection details:
- Database name
- Hostname or IP address
- Port number
- Username and password
For Credentials and Certificates, you can use secrets if a vault is configured for the platform and the service supports vaults. For information, see Using secrets from vaults in connections.
Choose the method for creating a connection based on where you are in the platform
In a project Click Add to project > Connection. See Adding a connection to a project.
In a catalog
Click Add to catalog > Connection. See Adding a connection asset to a catalog.
In a deployment space
Click Add to space > Connection. See Adding connections to a deployment space.
In the Platform assets catalog
Click New connection. See Adding platform connections.

Compose for MySQL setup
Restriction
For SPSS Modeler, you can use this connection only to import data. You cannot export data to this connection or to a Compose for MySQL connected data asset.
