TCP/IP performance data

When the migration type is TCP/IP, TDMF collects additional information about the transfer to the remote system at the local session, or from the local system at the remote session.

The following table describes TCP/IP performance data.

Table 1. Option 5 - Current/past sessions: TCP/IP volume performance data
Field Description
Total written to target (KB) The amount of data that is transferred to the remote system for this volume. If the COMPRESS option was specified, this value represents the amount of data before compression.
Effective TCP/IP Data Rate (KB/sec) The amount of uncompressed data (in KB) that was transferred, divided by the number of seconds required by the TCP/IP API routine to send the data (on the local system) or receive the data (on the remote system). Because the TCP/IP send and receive buffers are not infinite, some of this elapsed time includes writing the data to the target volume or reading the data from the source.
Data compression effective (%) The approximate reduction in the amount of data that is transferred because the COMPRESS option was specified.

The following figure shows an example of TCP/IP performance data.

TCP/IP Performance Data Cumulative Last Interval
Total written to target (KB): 1,444,771 614,089
  Effective TCP/IP Data Rate (KB/sec): 24,762 36,812
  Data compression effective (%): 37.3
