Verifying the operating system version

IBM® Operations Analytics Log Analysis Managed requires Red Hat Enterprise (RHEL) for Linux version 5, 6, or 7 or SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) version 11.

Procedure

To verify that the correct version of RHEL, is installed, log in as a root user and enter the following command:
```
cat /etc/redhat-release
```
Note: Red Hat Enterprise (RHEL) versions 5, 6, 7, and 7.1 are supported. If your version is not supported, you must upgrade to one of the supported versions.
To verify that the correct version of SLES, is installed, log in as a root user and enter the following command:
```
cat /etc/SuSE-release
```
If the version is not 11, you need to upgrade to that version.
