To log in, you must provide your user name and password in the fields provided on the login page. Your administrator creates your user name and password, and assigns them to you.
If you type the wrong text into the fields of the login page, re-type correct text and then log in again. See Session errors for information about other types of login problems.
When you log in, the default mode is displayed. Typically, browse mode is the default and shows the available object stores, but your administrator might have selected another mode to be the default. If your session times out due to inactivity, you must log in again and the default mode is redisplayed. Bookmarking the login page is not supported and could result in a login failure. If you want to add a Workplace XT page to your browser favorites, bookmark the page you want as usual. When you click that favorite item in your browser, the Log in page opens to allow you to log in, then your bookmarked location opens.
To end your application session, click Log out in the upper right corner of any page. Upon logging out, the login page is displayed.
You might encounter errors during or after logging in, as described below:
To log in to the application, you must type a user name and password. If you omit required credentials, or if you make a mistake when typing your user name or password, an error message is displayed. Type the correct or missing user name and password.
Rules established by your site or system administrator determine how many login attempts can occur before your account is locked out.
If your session was inactive for too long, the system terminates your session. When you attempt to perform an action, the Log in page is redisplayed. When you log in again, the application default mode is displayed and you must navigate to where you were when the session terminated.
Your login attempt might fail if the server is not available. The system displays the login page along with a "A system error has occurred" message. This message is accompanied by "Error output " that contains additional information about the failure. You can attempt to log in again, or contact your administrator or support group.
